LECTURE & ACTING VIRTUAL CLASS VIA ZOOM - Everyone will perform at least once in each class so get your mic or computer ready!

  • Overview of performance skills for animated content including basic improv, "breaking down" audition copy and "getting out of the room"
  • Review of improv for voice acting in animation and how to really create fun and breathe unique life into every performance.
  • Understanding of how accents make you stand out above the crowd 
  • Overview of the commercial voice-over world and what's expected in commercial auditions including "authentic" reads
  • Learn performance techniques and the different genres and what is expected in narration, E-learning and Audiobooks
  • Voice-over tips and tricks of voice acting including how to start and basic information on technical aspects of auditioning from your home
  • How to start your voice-over career!

Paulette Lifton, is a multi-Emmy and MPSE winning Sound/ADR Supervisor on shows like Kung Fu Panda and SpongeBob Squarepants. She was Co-Producer and Casting Director of the animated series, Spy Kids: Mission Critical for Neflix. Ms. Lifton was also the casting and voice director on multiple animated and live-action features for Netflix, Amazon and Starz including the Academy Award-nominated films Lion and Carol. She voice-directed some of the top actors in the business; Meryl Streep, Ed Norton, Jim Gaffigan, Julie Andrews, Kate McKinnon, Elle Fanning, Nat Wolff and Mel Brooks.

Mimi Maynard is a voice and casting director of her six 3D theatrical animated features she produced for Studio Canal, Summit and Lionsgate with her films winning Best Feature Film Cartoon and the Trophee du European for animation. Ms. Maynard handled the Celebrity casting, voice direction and development on all her films. Independently, she cast the feature Son of Bigfoot. As an actress herself, she won the ACE award and starred in many studio feature films. Her looping career includes, Zootopia, Frozen, Spiderman, and Desperate Housewives. She has been voice coaching actors for over a decade who have booked major commercials, starring roles and television series.

Heather Nichols has vast and varied experience as a professional Voiceover Artist. She has worked as a professional actress on camera, and on the microphone, in various genres, and has trained in Voiceover, Comedy, Drama, Hosting, and Improvisation, bringing a wide-ranging skillset to any project. She has voiced projects for companies such as Visa, Netflix, Bank of America, Cigna, Duke Energy, SurLaTable, Grandin Road, and many more. Heather is thrilled to be a 4x SOVAS Nominee for 2023! She is nominated in the categories of Audiobooks: Fiction, Audiobooks: Self-Help, Audiobooks: Teen, and Narration: E-Learning! With her strong background in marketing, working as the Head of Marketing for a major event producer, plus owning her own Digital Marketing Agency, Heather understands a client’s needs, and the overall goals of a campaign. That real-world business experience helps her students improve their performance skills, but also helps them set up their businesses for success.

As a 20+ year veteran of the voiceover industry, Mark Sweeney has lent his expertise to nearly every part of the voice acting process, from award-winning commercial voice casting to recording some of the most recognizable voices in the world. He began his career as a commercial editor on 100s of award-winning audio trailers to VO Booth Director for a prestigious bi-coastal theatrical talent agency directing voice actors, celebrities and comedians daily. From there he went on to commercial voice casting with Sound & Fury Casting, Mark's experienced ear was essential to identifying burgeoning voice talent and directing actors to deliver best-in-class performances. As a teacher and coach, Mark shares his casting director insights with an emphasis on self-directing grounded reads that are connected to the message while emphasizing the unique personality behind the voice.

Chris Bass is a one-of-a-kind actor and improver. He is is a highly talented voice actor, known for his ability to bring life and personality to his characters. He always leaves a mark with his versatile performances. Majoring in animation in college, Chris began his road to Voice Over by creating his own animated characters. His method of voice acting is based on his ability to visualize the characters that he grew up creating. Chris’ unique skill to adapt to different roles has allowed him to lend his voice to a wide range of characters, including heroes, villains, and comedic foils. Overall, Chris Bass is a gifted animation voice actor who has earned recognition for his contribution to the voice over community. His ability to create distinct voices and breathe life into his characters has made him a beloved figure among fans and fellow voice actors alike.
